Job Opportunities at Oceanagold!

The National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS) at the University of the Philippines is a multi-disciplinary forum for the study of processes that shape the Earth. The institution has been the prime producer of professionals in the fields of geochemistry, solid-earth geophysics, volcanology, volcano-tectonics, marine geology, hydrogeology, and paleontology.

Yearly NIGS invites various mining companies to join their annual “job fair” for their students. Every end of the school year, this event is held for graduating students to help them select the best companies, enabling them to obtain the best career in their chosen fields.

Among the Mining companies who attended the job fair at the University of the Philippines in Diliman Quezon city is Oceanagold Philippines,Inc.( OGPI) which operates the Didipio Gold-Copper Project in Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya ,represented  by Exploration Vice President Michael Roache who also presented OGPI’s  potential as a responsible mining company and  a prospective  employer  for many budding geologist.

Taking pride with the success of Oceanagold Macraes Operating Mine, the largest gold mine in New Zealand with 130,000 oz gold production this 2011.The company has a growing production profile and ramping up exploration in the Philippines. “Around us is either grown or mine, mining is here to stay when done responsibly thus providing sustainable development and OGPI for one mines responsibly.” Roache assures the students.
